Fort Collins, CO : 1 teenager dies after ATV wreck near Severance on April, Saturday 1st 2017

One teenage girl died Saturday night after she and two others wrecked their side-by-side ATV into a ditch.

The girl, whose identity has not been released, died about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the Weld County Sheriff's Office.

The three girls crashed the ATV into a water-filled ditch about 5 p.m. near the intersection of Weld County Road 76 and WCR 25, outside of Severance.

Two of the girls managed to get out, but the third remained trapped. First responders extricated her and conducted CPR, and she was hospitalized at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. She died later that night.

The other two girls sustained more minor injuries and were taken to MCR in unknown condition.

The cause of the wreck remains unknown at this time, and no additional information was immediately made available. The Weld County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident with the assistance of Colorado State Patrol.
