Davis, CA : Carmen Mina-Sangervasi, 49, died in a head-on collision outside of Dixon on Friday, August 19, 2016

A Davis woman died Friday in a head-on collision outside of Dixon, after her car drove into oncoming traffic on Pedrick Road between Curry and Tremont Roads.

Around 7:15 p.m., Carmen Mina-Sangervasi, 49, was driving northbound on Pedrick Road in a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta, at an unknown speed, when her vehicle drifted into oncoming traffic in the southbound lane, according to a press release from the Solano County CHP.

Her vehicle struck a Dodge Ram, which was traveling at approximately 55 mph. Mina-Sangervasi was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:42 p.m.

The two people in the truck — driver Donald Jackura, 58, and Christine Jackura, 54, both of Davis — did not sustain any visible injuries, but were taken to Kaiser in Vacaville after they complained of pain after the collision.

Alcohol and drugs did not appear to be a factor, CHP reported.

The area of the incident was closed for approximately three hours as CHP officers conducted an investigation.
