Cave Junction, OR : Austin Pedro, 35, dead in single-vehicle crash on Holland Loop Rd. on Sunday, April 19, 2015

Eric Fisher, 19, was driving his Acura Integra which slid off the road and crashed into a tree on Holland Loop Rd.

The impact sheared the car in half.

The front seat passenger was Cambria River Lin Cook, 22, who was transported to the hospital with injuries.

But, the backseat passenger, Austin Pedro, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The back end of the car was literally on Holland Loop and the front end of the car was just off to the side of the road, separated probably 50 to 100 feet away from the vehicle," said Jason Bayless from the Illinois Valley Fire District.

Fisher suffered minor injuries.

When Oregon State Troopers arrived on the scene they arrested him.

He has been lodged at the Josephine County Jail on charges of D.U.I.I., manslaughter, assault, reckless driving, assaulting a public safety officer and resisting arrest after being tazed.
