LAKELAND, FL : Lake Wales man seriously injured in Lakeland crash on Sunday, December 11, 2016

A Lake Wales man was seriously injured early Sunday morning in a one-vehicle accident on Wedgewood Estates Boulevard, the Lakeland Police Department said.Patrick Thomas Meeks, 28, was taken to Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center with significant injury to his head.
The road was closed because of downed power lines during the rest of the morning.
According to police, the accident happened about 3 a.m. as Meeks was driving a 2017 Nissan Sentra east on Wedgewood Estates Boulevard, passing Fenton Lane and entering a left curve.
