Las Vegas, NV : Two people dead after a crash along Flamingo Road near the Rio hotel-casino on Friday night, August 1, 2014

Two pedestrians died Friday night after they were hit by a car on Flamingo Road near the Rio, according to Metro Police.

A man and a woman were crossing Flamingo near Valley View Boulevard outside a crosswalk at 10:08 p.m. when they were struck by a car, Lt. Roger Price said.

The driver then left the scene, Price said.

Metro officers shut down traffic in the area to investigate the crash.
