Eau Claire, WI : Abbotsford man injured in crash on Badger Avenue in the town of Mayville early Saturday, June 18, 2016

An Abbotsford man was airlifted to a Marshfield hospital with life-threatening injuries suffered early Saturday when his truck left a Clark County road and struck several trees.

Diego D. Zuniga-Badillo, 21, was taken by helicopter to Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital following the accident, which was reported at 1:23 a.m. Saturday.

According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Zuniga-Badillo was driving northbound on Badger Avenue in the town of Mayville when his truck left the road, entered the east ditch and collided with trees, collapsing the passenger compartment.

Zuniga-Badillo, who is listed in critical condition, was wearing a seat belt. Speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.
