Abilene,TX : Abilene man dies in Sunday traffic crash on January, Sunday 28th 2018

A crash Sunday evening resulted in the death of an Abilene man, police said.

Joe David Lester, 22, of Abilene, was driving his 2011 Chevrolet pickup southbound on South Clack Street at about 8:15 p.m. when it left the roadway to the right, overturning.

It went into a drainage culvert and came to rest on its right side.

The Abilene Police Department received multiple calls regarding a motor vehicle collision near the intersection of South 14th and South Clack Streets.

Reports said a vehicle had flipped over and that the driver had been ejected.

Lester was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of Peace Mike McAuliffe.
