CRANSTON, RI : Cranston Police release name of woman killed in pedestrian crash on Friday, 9th August 2024

The Cranston Police Department released the identity of a woman killed after being struck by a car on Aug. 9.

77-year-old Lundy Braun died after a car hit her while it was backing out of a driveway on Strathmore Road.

Police said that the driver of the car told them she did not see Braun when she was backing out, and ran to a nearby house to call for medical aid.

First responders found Braun unresponsive and transported her to Rhode Island Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Braun was said to frequently walk on the road as she lived nearby.

Police added that the driver showed no signs of impairment, and no charges have been filed at this time.
