Brilliant ,AL : 36- Years old man killed after car struck him then he lay at the road along car struck him as he lay in the road on Tuesday ,March 24th 2015

A 36-year-old Marion County man was killed Tuesday when a car struck him as he lay in the road, according to Alabama State Troopers.

Trooper Jonathan Appling said Gabriel Lee Haney was lying on a county road near Brilliant, Ala. when he was struck by a 1997 Lincoln Continental just after 7:30 Tuesday evening.

Haney, from Brilliant, did not survive the collision.

Appling said the driver of the car that hit Haney was not injured and remained on the scene to talk to investigators.

The accident happened on Marion County Road 63, around eight miles south of Brilliant, Appling said.
