A four-vehicle collision snarled traffic traveling northbound on Highway 49 at Combie Road Wednesday morning.
The crash occurred just before 7:30 a.m. Greg Tassone, a public information officer with the California Highway Patrol, said the cause of the accident appeared to be a rear-end collision that may have sparked a chain reaction.

The accident initially blocked the left turn lane from Highway 49 onto Wolf Road as well as the left northbound lane of traffic. All northbound lanes were open by 9 a.m.
