Montgomery, AL : 1 dead, 1 in critical condition after nasty crash in Montgomery on Thursday, 20th June 2019
A 22-year-old has died after the 2010 Ford Mustang he was driving over State Highway 242 in Montgomery Thursday night collided into two other vehicles, splitting the Mustang in half and ejecting him from the vehicle. The crash left another 18-year-old driver in critical condition.
Jose Ortiz Garcia, of Willis, was pronounced dead on the scene, according to officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety. Garcia was travelling westbound on 242 in the eastbound lane when he struck a 2014 Nissan Altima head on.After striking the Nissan, Garcia crashed into a 2002 Honda Civic that was also travelling eastbound on 242. That collision split Garcia's Mustang in half and he was ejected from the vehicle, DPS Sgt. Erik Burse said.The driver of the Nissan Altima, 25-year-old Janeth Leal of Conroe and the passenger, 40-year-old Nancy Leal, were both taken to Conroe Regional Hospital in stable condition, Burse said. The driver of the Honda Civic, 18-year-old Giovanny Rojas, was taken the Memorial Hermann Hospital. Rojas is in critical condition as of Friday morning, Burse said.
