RISING SUN, IN : 40-year-old Dillsboro man dies in fiery southeastern Indiana crash on Monday, December 5th, 2016

A Dillsboro man is dead after a one-vehicle crash around 3 a.m. Monday between Rising Sun and Aberdeen.

Ohio County Sheriff's deputies arrived at the crash on State Road 56 near Dibble Road to find 40-year-old Daniel J. Lynch dead at the scene with his car fully engulfed in flames. Police said it appeared Lynch was traveling west in his 2005 Mercury Montego and failed to navigate a curve in the road.

Police say the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree head-on. The Rising Sun Police Department, Rising Sun Fire Department and Ohio County EMS all responded to the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
