ORANGE COUNTY, FL : Semis erupt in flames in SR-528 crash in Orange County on Sunday, 28th January 2024

The westbound lanes of State Road 528 reopened nearly 12 hours after two semitrucks crashed and became engulfed in flames in Orange County.

The crash happened around 8:10 a.m. in the westbound lanes near mile marker 19, officials said. The lanes reopened around 7:30 p.m.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a flatbed trailer was traveling west on S.R. 528 in the outside lane when the driver swerved to the left in attempt to avoid colliding with vehicles ahead. The truck jackknifed and crashed into the median concrete barrier, the FHP said.
