Albany, OR : Beaverton woman seriously injured in crash with semitrailer in Linn County on Wednesday, March 9, 2016

A Beaverton woman suffered serious injuries when the car she was driving collided with a semitrailer Wednesday in Linn County.

Damoneisha D. Calhoun, 21, was taken to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis, Oregon State Police said in a news release. The crash occurred on Oregon 34 east of Corvallis at about 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Calhoun was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt west on Highway 34, coming up on Oakville Road North, at the time of the crash. The Cobalt collided with a semitrailer turning east onto the highway from Oakville Road North, and the car became partially lodged underneath the trailer.

The semi driver, Charles M. Brennan, 55, of White City wasn't injured. Both he and Calhoun were wearing seatbelts.

The crash is under investigation.
