A Ford Expedition driver died Wednesday after being ejected from a car during a rollover crash, the California Highway Patrol said.
The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office identified the man as 60-year-old John Eagler, of Antioch. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at a hospital after being taken from the crash scene in an ambulance, the CHP said.
The wreck happened about 3:15 p.m. on northbound Deer Valley Road, north of Empire Mine Road.
According to the CHP, the Ford veered off the roadway as it went along a curve and then overturned. Eagler wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car.
