Joplin, MO : Two people were injured in a one-vehicle accident on Monday, July 10, 2017

Two people were injured in a one-vehicle accident at 9 p.m. Monday on Route E, 5 miles south of Powell in McDonald County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Heather Eastburn, 47, of Rocky Comfort, suffered serious injuries and sought treatment at Mercy Hospital Springfield. Troy Tygart, 47, of Joplin, suffered moderate injuries and sought treatment at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin.

The vehicle Eastburn was driving ran off the right side of the road, struck an embankment, overturned and came to rest on its side, the patrol said.
