Greeley, CO : Two people injured after crash on Weld County Road 49 on Monday morning, May 2, 2016
Two people were taken by helicopter to the hospital Monday morning after a head-on crash on Weld County Road 49, more than six miles southeast of Greeley.
Robert Pittington, 37, of Eaton, and James Huber, 31, of Colorado Springs, were both taken to North Colorado Medical Center with serious injuries. Both were wearing their seat belts, said Colorado State Patrol spokesman Trooper Tim Sutherland.
At about 6:20 a.m. authorities received a report of a head-on crash on Weld 49 between Weld County roads 42 and 44, said Weld County Sheriff’s Spokesman Cpl. Matt Turner.
Huber was driving north in a 1985 Ford F-350. When the truck accelerated through standing water, he lost control, Sutherland said. Huber’s vehicle spun out, crossing the road to the other side, where it collided head-on with a 1986 Dodge Ram.
One of the vehicles rolled over, Sutherland said. Multiple people were trapped in the vehicle.
Alcohol is not suspect as a factor in the crash, Sutherland said.
