HINDS COUNTY, MS : 1 killed, 1 injured in crash on Natchez Trace on Friday, 31st May 2019

A Byram woman was killed and a man was seriously injured in an early morning crash on the Natchez Trace Parkway, rangers said.

A 1993 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Carmen Grubbs, 54, was traveling southbound on the parkway in Hinds County at about 2:40 a.m. Friday, when the truck left the road and flipped, rangers said. Grubbs was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.Anthony Tharp, 53, also of Byram, was a passenger in the truck, park rangers said. Tharp was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center with what authorities said were serious injuries.
