Goliad,TX : Goliad man dies in motorcycle wreck on July, Sunday 2nd 2017

A 32-year-old Goliad man died early Sunday morning after a one-vehicle wreck on U.S. 77.

At 12:09 a.m., Christopher Bruce Cornwell was traveling south on U.S. 59 on the overpass of U.S. 77, said Sgt. Ruben San Miguel, Department of Public Safety spokesman.

Cornwell, who was driving a 2011 Harley-Davidson, left the roadway, traveled onto the shoulder and hit the guard rail, he said.

“Cornwell was vaulted over the guard rail and landed on the northbound shoulder of Highway 77,” San Miguel said.

Cornwell was pronounced dead at the scene by Mary Ann Rivera, Victoria County Justice of the Peace, Reyes said.

The wreck is still under investigation, he said.

The accident was 5 miles south of Victoria, said DPS Lt. Jason Reyes.
