Dale County ,AL :Former Auburn University football player killed in traffic crash on Friday , June 26th 2015
A former Auburn University player was killed Friday morning when his vehicle overturned on Dale County 36.James Andrew Kiger, 40, was killed when the 2005 Ford pickup he was driving struck a guardrail and overturned off the roadway. Kiger played center for Auburn back in the early '90s.His former Auburn coach Terry Bowden, expressed his condolences over Kiger's death in an interview with 247 Sports. "How very sad," he said. "He was a good person. I've already lost so many players from my first (Auburn) team in 1993."Kiger lettered at Auburn in 1995 and 1996.Troopers say Kiger wasn't wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene by Dale County Coroner Woodrow Hilboldt.The crash occurred at 1:15 a.m. on Dale County 36, three miles west of Ozark.Troopers continue to investigate.
