Camp Point, IL : Camp Point woman hospitalized after crash on Tuesday morning, March 7, 2017

A Camp Point woman was hospitalized after reportedly falling asleep at the wheel Tuesday morning and crashing her car.

Stephanie Morton, 44, was driving west on U.S. 24 west of Camp Point when she fell asleep and lost control of her vehicle, according to an Adams County Sheriff's Department report. The car left the road and rolled over five or six times before coming to rest in a ditch. The Sheriff's Department responded to the crash at 5:39 a.m.

Morton was taken by ambulance to Blessing Hospital. There was no information regarding the extent of her injuries. She was wearing a seat belt. Her 2008 Toyota Prius had major damage.

Adams County Ambulance and EMS, the Camp Point Fire Department, Central Adams Rescue and Clayton Rescue assisted.
