Vidor, TX : Two adults and two children in five-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 10 on Wednesday night 1st 2014
A five-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 westbound near the Asher Turnaround outside Vidor killed two adults and two children in passenger cars caught in a maelstrom of colliding cars and 18-wheeler trucks, said Trooper Stephanie Davis of the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The collisions occurred around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in dry conditions, meaning no rain, Davis said.
The wreck involved a 2015 Kenworth truck tractor, a 2003 Volvo truck tractor, a 2011 Kia SUV, a 2002 Dodge truck and a 1994 Ford passenger vehicle.
Judge Derry Dunn pronounced the driver of the 2011 Kia, 62-year-old Glenda Blackwell of Vidor, dead at the scene as well as the two children in the vehicle. Davis said the children's names would not be released.
Dunn also pronounced dead at the scene the driver of the 1994 Ford, who was a Hispanic man whose identity has not been confirmed.
The other drivers were not injured in the collision.
