Santa Rosa , CA : One man killed in crash after he lost control while trying to pass a vehicle and hit by another Vehicle on Sunday , April 12th 2015

A man died after he lost control while trying to pass a vehicle near Santa Rosa and was hit by another car, authorities said.
The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was driving a 2004 Hyundai Sonata west on Bennett Valley Road west of Grange Road about 5:50 p.m. Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The man passed another car but lost control after crossing the double yellow lines while on a curve, said CHP Officer Marcus Hawkins.
The Hyundai began spinning and was perpendicular to the road when it was hit on the driver’s side by an eastbound 2000 Dodge Neon driven by Tina Gonzalez, 43, of Santa Rosa, Hawkins said.
The impact caused the Hyundai to flip onto its roof. The driver died at the scene.
Gonzalez suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
