Enid, OK : A three-vehicle crash injured several people on Saturday, June 24, 2017
A three-vehicle crash injured several people Saturday night on Oklahoma 58 four and a half miles south of Fairview, .3 of a mile from the junction with Oklahoma 51A.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol report stated that a 1998 Ford Mustang driven by Katherine M. Baker, 67, of Longdale, was southbound on Oklahoma 58 at 10:10 p.m. Saturday and crossed the centerline for an unknown reason, striking a 2011 Dodge 3/4-ton truck driven by Matthew R. Acre, 38, of Fairview.
The Baker vehicle then spun around in front of a 2008 GMC 1/2-ton truck driven by Mitchell T. Nightingale, 30, of Fairview, striking the front of his vehicle.
Baker was transported by Major County EMS to Fairview Hospital, where she was admitted in stable condition with head, arm, internal and external trunk injuries. A passenger was uninjured.
Acre and his passenger were uninjured, and Nightingale refused treatment at the scene. Two 4-year-old boys, both of Fairview, were uninjured in the Nightengale pickup.
Laurie Nightengale, of Fairview, a passenger in the GMC pickup, was transported by private vehicle to Fairview Hospital, and was treated and released for head and internal trunk injuries.
The OHP report indicated Baker's condition as under the influence of medications, and seat belts were equipped and in use by the occupants of all three vehicles.
OHP units from Troop J's Alfalfa and Major county detachments responded to the scene, along with Blaine and Major county sheriff's department, Major County EMS and the Fairview Fire Department.
