BITHLO, FL : Three people are dead on May, Saturday, 20th 2017
Three people are dead after the driver of a small car lost control and careened into oncoming traffic Saturday evening.
The crash happened on State Road 50 just west of State Road 520.
Witnesses told Florida Highway Patrol troopers that the driver who lost control was headed westbound but then veered into the eastbound lanes and slammed into a pickup truck head-on.
The driver who lost control died. He has not yet been identified.
The driver of the pickup truck, 69-year-old Linda McCormick, also died.
No one else was in the vehicle that lost control, but three people who were riding in the truck had to be rushed to hospitals.
Soon after, one of the injured, a 13-year-old Dylon McCormick, died from his injuries at Arnold Palmer Hospital.
The two other McCormick family members who were hurt are recovering at Orlando Regional Medical Center.
The family lives in the Christmas area.
The crash remains under investigation. It's not yet clear what caused the driver of the car to lose control, but troopers said witnesses told them they saw him driving aggressively ahead of the crash.
