Hutchinson, KS : One injured in Ford County wreck on Wednesday, 25th April 2018
A Jetmore man was injured Wednesday when his vehicle was struck by a semi as he slowed and attempted a left turn on a Ford County highway.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported Randy Lee Housman, 60, was eastbound on U.S. 50 in a 1989 Chevy Blazer about 2:20 p.m. when he slowed to turn at the intersection of U.S. 283.
A 2009 Peterbilt Semi driven by Jose Villalobos, 52, of Cactus, Texas, was also eastbound and went left of center, striking the Blazer as it turned left.
The report did not indicate whether the semi was attempting to pass the slowing SUV or swerved to avoid rear-ending it.
Housman, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Western Plains Regional Hospital in Dodge City for his injuries. Villalobos, who was also restrained, was not injured.
