Brockton, MA : Pregnant woman and her 11-year-old daughter injured after their SUV crashed into a home in Brockton on Sunday afternoon, May 15, 2016

A pregnant driver and a child were sent to a local hospital after a Honda SUV crashed into the front of a Pleasant Street building Sunday afternoon, officials said.

The unidentified woman and her 11-year-old daughter suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said at the scene. Their conditions were not immediately known Sunday.

Police and fire responded to 459 Pleasant St. after receiving a report of a car crashing into a building just after 2 p.m. Sunday.

Police said the driver lost control of the gray-colored Honda SUV and crashed into the stone wall of a multi-family house on Pleasant Street. The driver told police she lost control of her brakes. The airbags deployed inside the vehicle, which sustained heavy front-end damage.

Several police officers and firefighters responded to the scene. Several residents of the building came outside to watch as crews worked at the scene.

The crash impact shook the building, said Mona Divers, who was sitting inside the first-floor apartment of the building when the crash occurred.

"I heard the crash," Divers, 53, said. "When I went outside I saw the car there. I was shaking myself too, because, wow, it is terrible."
