SARASOTA, FL : Woman dies in two-vehicle crash in Sarasota on Thursday, 25th August, 2016

A woman died Thursday after her car struck another vehicle at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Constitution Boulevard.

Eleanor Grochowski, 63, of Sarasota, was turning onto Constitution Boulevard from the southbound left-turn lane of U.S. 41 when her Acura sedan collided with a Dodge Ram pickup heading north on U.S. 41, according to a Florida Highway Patrol release.

After the vehicles collided, Grochowski's car came to rest on the grass shoulder of the road. The pickup ended up facing south, blocking the inside and center lanes of U.S. 41, according to FHP's report.

The driver of the truck, Terry Lynn Moreland Jr., 20, of Sarasota, was uninjured, the release stated.

Grochowski died at the scene.

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office provided traffic control after the crash.
