The eastbound side of Route 101 was closed in Candia Friday morning after one person was killed in a rollover crash.

The crash occurred just after 7:30 a.m. between exits 3 and 4.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found one vehicle on its roof in the middle of the eastbound lanes, officials said. A second vehicle was in the center median facing westbound.

Joseph Dekorne, 43, of Fremont, was pronounced dead at the scene, state police officials confirmed. The second driver, 31-year-old Michael McCormick, of Bedford, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Elliot Hospital in Manchester.

Police believe Dekorne was traveling at high rate of speed before losing control and striking McCormick.

Traffic was backed up for several miles on both sides of the highway.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
