2 dead, 4 injured in three-car accident in Tuscaloosa Alabama
Two are dead and four injured after a three-vehicle crash early this morning on I-59 in Tuscaloosa.According to the Alabama Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred at 5:45 a.m. on I-59 southbound at the 67.7 mile marker.
A 2005 Toyota Camry collided with a 2005 Saturn and a 2009 Ford Focus as the Camry was entering I-59 from an entrance ramp.Camry driver Ellis Andrews, 84, and his passenger, Lorene Andrews, 83, both of West Point, Miss. were killed. Neither were wearing seat belts.
The driver of the 2005 Saturn, Joseph Farfan, 20, and his passenger, Joana Gomez, 21, both of Arnold, Miss., were injured. The driver of the 2009 Ford Focus, Shelly Hamby, 26, and her passenger Christopher Flemming, 38, both of Vandalia, Ohio, were also injured. All four were wearing seat belts.All four injured parties were transported by ambulance to DCH Regional Medical Center.Alabama State Troopers are continuing to investigate the accident.
