Longmont, CO : Two-car crash on U.S. 287 in Longmont on Thursday, 5th December, 2019

A woman had to be partially extricated from her vehicle after a two-car crash Thursday night on U.S. 287 and Park Ridge Avenue in Longmont.

According to Longmont police Sgt. Tim Miller, the crash occurred just before 6 p.m. A woman driving a Nissan Pathfinder was attempting to make a left turn toward Walmart and failed to yield to the right of way. She was struck by a man who was traveling northbound in mid-size SUV. The collision caused her car to spin and the other car to come to rest in a field.

Emergency responders had to perform a partial extrication, breaking the glass on the woman’s passenger side door to free her from the vehicle. She was taken to the hospital with a shoulder injury. According to Miller, her injuries were not life threatening and she was able to walk to the ambulance.

The man driving the mid-sized SUV was not injured.
