Lake County, IL : Woman killed in a semi-truck crash in Interstate-90 On Thursday December 24 2015

Lake County officials say one woman is dead after an accident involving a semi-truck Thursday morning.
The Mentor Fire Department released a statement just before 4 p.m. Thursday:
A 47 year-old female that had exited her vehicle for some unknown reason after pulling off to the side of the roadway on I-90 was struck and killed by a semi-tractor trailer today here in Mentor. The accident occurred at approximately 10:35 a.m.and shutdown westbound traffic for approximately 4 and a half hours as officials investigated the scene. The name of the deceased is being withheld at this time. The investigation into this incident continues."
No other information is available at this time.
County officials closed I-90 westbound between SR 615 and SR 306 in Mentor first, then extended the closure to SR 44, where all westbound drivers were forced to exit the highway.
Officials reopened the roadway about 3 p.m.
