Sarasota County, FL : 23-year-old man killed in car crash on Sawyer Road early Friday morning, March 25, 2016

A man died after crashing his car early today on Sawyer Road, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.

According to an FHP release, the 23-year-old from Chattanooga, Tennessee, was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix north on Sawyer Road at about 2 a.m., approaching a dead end. The Pontiac traveled north off the road from the dead end and struck a tree, FHP says, then rotated, striking a vehicle that was parked on a trailer, which struck another parked vehicle.

The Herald-Tribune is not released the victim's name because his family has not been notified. He was wearing a seatbelt, FHP reports.
