POLSON, MT : Bloomington twins die in Montana crash on Monday, 24th June 2019

Twin brothers from Bloomington are dead following a two-vehicle collision in northwestern Montana Monday morning.

Lake County Sheriff Don Bell says David and Benjamin Temte died along with the driver of the second vehicle, 66-year-old Audrey Moran of Polson, Montana.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the car with the Minnesota men inside left U.S. Highway 93 south of Ronan and hit a guardrail Monday morning before colliding head-on with a car driven by Moran.Dordt University in Iowa said Tuesday that David Temte was a junior on the school's track and cross country teams and was part of a relay team that won an NAIA national championship in May. The university said he and his twin brother, Ben, died in a crash in Montana on their way home from a two-week road trip out west.

“Our hearts are broken by this sudden and tragic loss,” says Derek Buteyn, director of resident life at Dordt. “David embodied joyfulness and sincerely loved and cared for others. Our campus was blessed by his friendship and kindhearted personality, and we will deeply miss him as a brother in our community.”
