A 20-year-old Brooklyn man has been killed in a crash involving a car and an SUV.
Police say the accident happened at about 10 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Georgia and Livonia avenues in Brooklyn.
Police say the SUV was going northbound at high rate of speed when it collided with an eastbound car at the intersection.
A passenger in the car, Saber Mohammed, was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. The driver, who was not identified, was in stable condition with neck and back pain.
Christopher Cates, the 29-year old SUV driver, allegedly fled, but was quickly apprehended. He was arrested on manslaughter and other charges. It was not immediately clear if he had a lawyer to comment.
His 21-year-old passenger was charged with marijuana possession.
