Monett, MO : Monett woman dies following wreck on April, Friday 7th 2017
A Monett woman died following a wreck that also killed a Springfield man on Friday at 4:52 p.m. on Route ZZ at Farm Road 182, two miles west of Battlefield.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Mable Brock, 84, of Monett, was driving a 2004 Buick LeSabre when her vehicle pulled into the path of a 2000 Ford F350, being driven by Gregory Creech, 53, of Springfield, causing the Ford to trike the Buick, travel off the left side of the roadway and overturn.
Creech was pronounced dead at the scene by Tom Vandenberg, of the Greene County Coroner's Office. He was transported to the Greene County Medical Examiner's Office.
Brock suffered serious injuries and was flown to Cox South Hospital, where she was pronounced dead by Dr. James Gibson at 6:01 p.m. on Saturday.
Brock was wearing a safety device, and Creech was not. Both vehicles were totaled.
These are the 23rd and 24th fatalities of 2017 for Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, which covers 18 counties in southwest Missouri, including Lawrence and Barry.
