Loveland,CO : Loveland motorcycle crash sent rider 40 feet airborne on April, Tuesday 10th 2018

A Loveland motorcyclist was sent "40 feet to 50 feet in the air" according to witnesses, after he collided with a turning Subaru on Buchanan Avenue Tuesday.

The motorcyclist, 46-year-old Ked Hall, was headed northbound on Buchanan Avenue riding his black 2000 Harley-Davidson, according to an accident report from the Loveland Police Department. Meanwhile, a dark green 1996 Subaru Legacy, headed southbound on Buchanan, made a left turn across the northbound lanes toward North Lincoln Avenue. The Subaru driver, failed to yield to Hall's bike, which crashed into the front end of the Subaru, according to the accident report.

Three witnesses of the accident reported that Hall flew upwards of 40 feet in the air, landing several feet away from both vehicles. One of his boots was cast even farther away.

Witness reports and the accident report imply that Hall was not at fault for the crash, and the accident report clearly states that the Subaru failed to yield. The accident report did not specify whether police issued any tickets to the driver of the Subaru, who was not injured.

"I went over to the rider; that's when I noticed he had a very bad injury to the back of his head," stated one witness, Julie Thompson. "At that time he had labored breathing and could not talk or open his eyes. It took a little time before he could open his eyes and did talk."

Hall, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to McKee Medical Center for injuries that were not life-threatening.
