Shawnee, OK : A Shawnee woman and two children were injured in a four-vehicle on Thursday, November, 2nd 2017
A Shawnee woman and two children were injured in a four-vehicle chain reaction accident Thursday on the John Kilpatrick Turnpike.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the crash occurred at the toll plaza, where a 2002 Ford Explorer driven by Jessica Carpenter, 36, Shawnee, was struck by another vehicle, prompting the chain reaction involving two other vehicles.
Carpenter was transported to OU Medical Center, the OHP said, where she was treated for head injuries and released.
Her two passengers, — an 8-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy, went to Children’s Hospital, where the older child was treated and released. The four-year old was admitted in critical condition with head injuries. The OHP did not release the names of the children. The occupants of the other vehicles were either not injured or treated for injuries and released, the OHP said.
