Millvale ,PA : One person dead and another injured in Millvale crash on Sunday morning.,August 2nd 2015

A woman is dead and a man has serious injuries from a two-vehicle crash in Millvale early Sunday morning.

Darrell Dorsey, 36, drove a 2015 Dodge Charger through a red light and crashed into a Honda Accord carrying two passengers at the intersection of Beekman and Hopple streets around 12:40 a.m., police said.

Maurice Scurry, 42, and his passenger Ann Hatcher, 32, were transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with serious injuries, police said.

Hatcher later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Dorsey fled the scene of the crash and was arrested by police a short time later.

Dorsey, who lives in North College Hill according to court records, is accused of aggravated vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a crash.

Police said after the crash, Dorsey smelled of alcohol and had "blood shot eyes and slurred speech," according to a criminal complaint. Dorsey had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol despite having his license suspended for the same infraction, police said.

Police said Dorsey refused providing a blood sample for chemical testing purposes after the accident.
