Marysville, CA : Man suffers major injuries in collision on Highway 99 south of Oswald Road on Friday, June 17, 2016

An early morning accident in Sutter County involving a big rig injured one man on Friday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A 2008 Freightliner towing a trailer driven by Kuldeep Singh Sandhu, 48, of Yuba City collided with a 2003 Ford F-150 pickup driven by Jorge Lee Forrest, 24, of Oroville.

According to a CHP press release, Forrest suffered major injuries and was transported to Rideout Regional Medical Center after he hit the left rear bumper of the big rig on Highway 99 south of Oswald Road.

Forrest was traveling north on Highway 99 and approaching the Chevron station, where Sandhu was preparing to make a left turn from the Chevron onto Highway 99.
The accident is under investigation.
