WALLINGFORD, CT : Wallingford woman cited for DUI after crash on Sunday, 19th August 2018

A local woman was cited by police for driving under the influence after crashing her car overnight.

Lisa Eells, 47, of Wallingford, was cited to appear in Rutland criminal court to answer to a charge of driving under the influence after the crash early Sunday morning.

State police were dispatched to the crash at about 1:53 a.m. Sunday. Police said Eells was driving south on Route 7 in Wallingford when she drove off the road and into a telephone pole.

Police screened Eells for driving under the influence after she allegedly displayed signs of impairment. Eells was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence and later cited and released.
