STATEN ISLAND, NY : 1 person critical after car accident in Graniteville on Tuesday, 16th February 2021

One person was transported to the hospital in critical condition after a car accident in Graniteville Tuesday night, officials say.

Emergency personnel responded in the vicinity of Elson Street and Lamberts Lane at 6:21 p.m. for a report of an unconscious patient, an FDNY spokesman said.

One person was taken to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton, according to the spokesman.

A police spokesman said a 71-year-old man and and 69-year-old woman were taken to RUMC RUMC in critical condition.

A man was taken into custody in connection with the accident, the spokesman said.
