Two people were badly hurt after police say their car went airborne off the interstate, crashing through a guardrail and landing on an exit ramp.
The wreck happened at I-25 and North Nevada late Wednesday night, totaling the car and leaving behind a massive scene that took hours to clean up. Police had get debris off the roadway and totaled vehicle towed away, while CDOT spent the overnight hours repairing the broken guardrail.
As of 5 a.m. Thursday, traffic was moving normally in the area.
Two people in the car were rushed to the hospital with critical injuries. Officers on scene tell 11 News another vehicle was involved in the crash but that there were no injuries to the occupants of that car. It’s not clear how that other vehicle was involved.
Police are still investigating what caused the crash. It’s unknown if drugs, alcohol or speeding are suspected.
