BOYNTON BEACH, FL : Miami woman, 27, injured in Boynton I-95 wreck on Friday, 2nd September 2016
A 27-year-old Miami woman was flown to a hospital early Friday after she crashed her car into a disabled freight truck parked near an Interstate 95 exit ramp, the Florida Highway Patrol said.Sheila William was critically injured in the wreck, which happened at about 4:30 a.m. She was flown to Delray Medical Center by Trauma Hawk.
William was driving a 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander northbound when she struck a disabled 2000 Freightliner truck just south of the exit ramp at Boynton Beach Boulevard, FHP said.
The driver, Narciso Perez Fonte, 53, of Hialeah had placed emergency pylons behind the truck before the wreck occurred. He was not injured in the crash.The cause of the wreck, which delayed traffic to Gateway Boulevard until nearly 7 a.m., remained under investigation Friday.
William was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck. Tests results were not available Friday morning on whether drugs or alcohol played any role in the wreck, FHP said.
Fonte was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash, FHP said.
