Parsippany, NJ : Motorcyclist dies after Route 15 crash in Jefferson on Tuesday, June 21, 2016

A Wharton resident died Tuesday after his motorcycle was hit by a car on Route 15, police said.

Richard Bianculli, 46, was traveling south on Route 15 when he was struck by a vehicle operated by a 17-year-old female, police said.

Police responded to the scene, which was near the intersection of Edison Road, at 4:37 p.m. after the report came in about a motor vehicle accident, police said.

CPR was performed at the scene and he was transported to St. Clare's -Dover Hospital by the Jefferson Rescue Squad where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

The Morris County Sheriff's Crime Scene Unit, Morris County Prosecutors Office and Jefferson Twp. Fire Co. 2 all responded to the scene.

The investigation caused traffic delays for about 2 hours after the accident, police said.

The accident remains under investigation.
