Clinton, MS : 66- Years old dead after single vehicle crash Saturday ,July 11th 2015

A 66-year-old Clinton man is dead after driving a pickup truck into a concrete culvert on Clinch Avenue near Lee Road on Saturday.

Witnesses told police that Johnny Sparks was traveling south on Clinch Avenue when he served into the northbound lane, barely missing an oncoming vehicle. Sparks then crashed into the culvert and was ejected from the truck around 11:30 p.m Saturday. There were no other passengers in Sparks' car.

Police said it was the first fatal accident in the Clinton city limits since December 2013.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
