5-month-old baby killed in a car crash in Louisville

A 5-month-old baby is dead following a car crash in Louisville.

It happened at the intersection of 18th Street and Cedar Street around midnight.

According to police, 51-year-old James O’Bannon was driving a pickup truck on Cedar when he ran a stop sign and hit a van carrying a mother, her infant twins and three other children.

The twins were taken to Kosair Children’s hospital where one of them later died. The other is listed in critical but stable condition.

O’Bannon is charged with murder, assault, wanton endangerment and driving under the influence.

Officers say he was driving on a suspended license because of a previous DUI.
