Marshall County, AL : Burlington man, brother killed in crash on Thursday January 21 2016

Two half-brothers died early Thursday morning when the truck they were in went off Oak Grove Road, south of J Dr S, in Newton Township.
Carl Tackett, 23, of Burlington, and his passenger, Olaf Samuel Boes, 26, of Marshall, were headed back to an Oak Grove residence when Tackett lost control, left the road and hit a tree.
A newspaper delivery driver spotted the wreck, with both men trapped in the truck. Both were unresponsive and were pronounced dead at the scene from their extensive injuries.
Michigan State Police Troopers, Newton Township fire personnel, Calhoun County Sheriff's Office deputies and LifeCare Ambulance responded to the wreck, which occurred sometime before it was found at 4:30 a.m. Both men had been last seen in Marshall around 11:30 p.m.
The southbound pickup truck lost control on icy roads, left the roadway and struck a tree almost head on. According the the MSP, speed and alcohol appear to have contributed to the crash.
Due to the extent of damage to the vehicle, investigators could not determine if either the occupant was wearing a seat belt.
The mother and next of kin currently reside in London, Kentucky.
