Young Adrian man killed in crash in Royalton Ohio

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal traffic crash at the intersection of State Route 109 and US Route 20 in Royalton Township.

Investigators say that around 5:15 p.m., Monday night, 22-year-old Andrew Emery failed to stop at a stop sign and hit an empty tanker truck.

Emery, from Adrian, died at the scene despite wearing a seatbelt.The driver of the semi-truck involved, 51-year-old Robert L. Hightower Jr. of Toledo was not injured. Authorities believe alcohol played a role in the accident.
