WICHITA, KS : Mother, two small children critically injured in crash on Sunday, 19th February 2023

A single-vehicle crash in southwest Wichita has left a mother and her two small children in critical condition.

Sergeant Robertson of the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office says that the accident happened in the 20000 block of W. 39th St. South at approximately 5:15 p.m. When officers arrived on scene, they found that the vehicle had caught fire.

The 33-year-old mother and her two children, a 4-year-old girl and 2-year-old boy were transported to a Wichita hospital in critical condition.

The road between 199th and 215th West will be closed for the next several hours while the investigation into the cause of the crash continues.
